About Sturm Foods
Sturm Foods was originally started by Arthur Sturm and his sons as a dairy farm in 1905 as A. Sturm & Sons. The family began buying eggs from local farmers and shipping them to Chicago.During the 1930s, business expanded to include commodities such as sugar, seed, twine, potatoes, flour, coal and gasoline. World War II brought continued growth when the company began to manufacture bulk dried food products, such as eggs and powdered milk, to be delivered to American servicemen.
The company entered the private label distribution market in the early 1970s and continues this business model. The business flourished throughout the eighties and nineties with a broadening product line and employment increasing from 150 to 500 employees. In May 2005, Sturm Foods was acquired by the private equity firm HM Capital Partners. This new relationship strengthened Sturm Foods position in the marketplace and provided a stepping-stone to continued growth and success.
On December 1, 2009 HM Capital announced that Sturm Foods was sold to TreeHouse Foods as a subsidiary of Bay Valley Foods. Under the Bay Valley portfolio, Sturm Foods continues to take pride in manufacturing a variety of quality dry food products including hot beverages such as coffees, teas, cappuccinos & cocoas.

I usually like really full bodied coffee yet many K cups I find are bitter tasting...and I love a flavored coffee but they usually taste like colored water. I was really pleasantly surprised to find this has a great taste. Not too light and not too dark, no bitterness. I'm not sure what the retail price is going to be (I received a 56 count box) as at the time of this review, the item (the 56 count box) it not available, so, I can't comment on the value for price. For some sort of guidance (because everyone has different taste buds) - I like Caribou coffee but dislike the original Donut Shop brand donut shop coffee (yet I like Donut Shops chocolate donut).So, if you are looking for something with depth (gah! I'm not even sure if I'm explaining this correctly - I am not a coffee snob - so I don't know all the terms!) this is a great coffee. At only 37 cents a cup this is the best Kcup around. I bought the 100ct dark roast and both my wife and are very pleased with the flavor. It's an excellent dark roast and not bitter. I've also bought the Caza Trail Kona and Donut Shop Flavors and they were both very good. But this dark roast 100ct is a great value. We have never had any problems with leakers and we have been using Caza Trail products exclusively since March.

This is a great robust coffee with no aftertaste or bitterness. I usually drink Green Mountain Dark Magic. This is as good....maybe better. And a great price. Caza Trail is now my coffee of choice. I had no trouble with the Kcups at all.
